Paste has an article on the resurgence of audio cassette tapes. Truth be told, the evidence presented is not all that convincing. I remember reading about Beck covering Evol by Sonic Youth on cassette some time ago, and have yet to see actual product. Even when writing about the allure of cassettes, the author can’t help but bring in examples of their limitations (like melting in your hot car).
Sometimes, if I'm talking about recording something on the DVR, I refer to it as "taping" something. I'm still getting used to the fact that there's no magnetic tape involved.
