Sometimes, if I'm talking about recording something on the DVR, I refer to it as "taping" something. I'm still getting used to the fact that there's no magnetic tape involved. Tape Collision is a weblog about the intersection of old and new. It's about Firewire Betamax, digital newspapers, vinyl on laptops and the internet in print.

Not particularly useful, but really cool looking:
Paste has an article on the resurgence of audio cassette tapes. Truth be told, the evidence presented is not all that convincing. I remember reading about Beck covering Evol by Sonic Youth on cassette some time ago, and have yet to see actual product. Even when writing about the allure of cassettes, the author can’t help but bring in examples of their limitations (like melting in your hot car).
Nice looking turntable from 1956. I could deal with a USB out and this on my desktop. Who needs to print, anyway?
Not sure I like the layout - this digital pinball machine is really cool concept:

This is really cool but just seems totally impractical.
All I can say is “‘wow.” A $200 kit to convert your typewriter to a iPad keyboard.
